Dynamic analysis of bullet in-bore motion coupled with barrel temperature field

Abstract In this paper, a multi-physics field coupled finite element model for the motion of projectile in hot barrel is proposed and validated by muzzle velocity test temperature test. The includes heat transfer analysis, explicit dynamic analysis investigates in-bore under different conditions. It pointed out that, with increase temperature, radial displacement centroid increases, consistency becomes worse, swing angle increases significantly. This work can contribute to further studies on anomalous dispersion mechanism improvement firing accuracy.
